Henry graduated from the University of the Free State (UFS) in South Africa with a Physiotherapy Honours Degree (with special focus on the shoulder joint). 

After graduation he specialized in post-operative orthopaedic rehabilitation, sports team physiotherapy and Clinical Pilates. His passion for sports motivated him to obtain the highest qualification in Pre Hospital Immediate Care in Sport, a course endorsed by the Faculty of Pre-Hospital Care, The Royal College of surgeons of Edinburgh.

Main Focus
His main focus areas include: musculoskeletal problems such as sports-related injuries, work related injuries along with mechanical back and neck pains. 

He is particularly passionate about post injury/surgery facilitation through the four stages of rehabilitation (Acute inflammation, range of movement, strength and return to sport).

He includes a combination of techniques from hands on manual therapy and manipulations, deep soft tissue release, dry needling and cupping to biomechanical correction and taping.  

For the final phase of rehabilitation, he use a combination of Clinical Pilates, TRX, functional strength and conditioning to sport related progressive loading, to enable patients to return to their sport /duties feeling better and stronger than ever.

Professional Experiences
Since 2012, Henry has worked at multiple different sport events, including ultra marathons, triathlons, mountain biking, rowing, trail running and many other field sports events.

Henry is an International qualified Sports team Physiotherapist. He’s been the sport team physiotherapist for

  • UFS Residence Varsity cup Rugby team (2011-12)
  • UFS 1st team Varsity Cup Rugby team (2013-2014)
  • National Golden Games - athletics for athletes over 65 year (2015)(RSA)
  • Hong Kong Valley Blacks rugby Team (2016, 2017, 2018 part-time)
  • ITF/ATP Hong Kong Tennis team (2019)
  • Hong Kong Rugby Union: Hong Kong 7s & U17s Development team (2019)

Henry is active on and off the sports field and still participates in field hockey, squash, triathlons and anything adventurous such as  mountain biking, trail running to diving, surfing, stand up paddling etc.
